Cost of missed calls

Every missed call is a job that might have gone to a competitor. Enter your own numbers to see what it adds up to, then check whether Nextiva, Quo (formerly OpenPhone), RingCentral, Aircall, Answering Service Care, CallRail, Weave, Smith.ai would pay for itself.

How this calculator works

The lost-revenue estimate is a straightforward extrapolation: the missed calls per week you enter, times the share you believe would have become paying jobs, times your average job value, projected over 52 weeks a year (and divided by 12 for the monthly figure). None of those three inputs are verified statistics — they are examples pre-filled to show the shape of the calculation, and you should replace them with your own numbers.

The break-even table is different: it uses only prices Kitfinch has read and dated on each vendor's own pricing page. "Jobs to break even" divides that verified monthly price by your average job value; "Pays for itself?" compares that to the jobs you're projected to recover per month above.

This is a planning tool, not a lab test: we have not used these answering services ourselves. For the full picture on each one, see its product page.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the missed-call and conversion numbers come from?
They're examples you're meant to replace: missed calls per week, the share that would have booked, and your average job value are all figures you type in for your own business. Kitfinch does not claim any industry-wide statistic for them.
How is the lost revenue calculated?
Missed calls per week × the share you say would have converted × your average job value, extrapolated over a full year (52 weeks) and then divided by 12 for the monthly figure, so the two numbers stay consistent with each other.
How is "jobs to break even" worked out for each service?
It's the service's verified monthly price divided by your average job value, rounded up to a whole job. It ignores your conversion assumption on purpose: it answers "how many recovered jobs would it take", not "will you actually get that many".
Why do some services show "Check price" instead of a number?
Kitfinch only shows a price once it has been read on the vendor's own pricing page and re-checked within our freshness window (see our methodology). Services that only quote on request, or that we could not verify recently, are excluded from the break-even column rather than estimated.
